Publish Photos Directly from Lightroom to Instagram Using LR/Instagram Plugin

lr/instagram

LR/Instagram is a newly launched Adobe Lightroom plugin which lets you publish your images directly from the desktop/laptop to your Instagram account. Yes, that is possible, I too was overjoyed when I came to know about this awesome plugin.

Till date, there was no easy way out to publish images on Instagram directly from a desktop/laptop as Instagram does not allow so. You first have to transfer the photo to your mobile phone and then only you can publish it on Instagram. What LR/Instagram does it that it eliminated this process and lets you post photos directly from Lightroom. Now I no more need to transfer my images to my mobile phone and then post it on Instagram as I now have LR/Instagram plugin installed in my Lightroom software.

That’s not all. LR/Instagram also lets you add the description and hashtags along with the photo that goes live on your Instagram handle. Moreover, you can also add post-processing action what will crop your photos in the aspect ratio supported by Instagram (4:5 or 1.85:1 aspect ratios). Or you can also use the automatic padding option which will add a white border to your photo in order to match the aspect ratio. You can also add multiple Instagram accounts using this plugin, in case you maintain more than one Instagram account.

I am eagerly waiting for team LR/Instagram to bring in the update where we can schedule Instagram posts as well.

The great news is that this is a free-to-download plugin, though you can also purchase it for $10 as a registration fee to support this project. The LR/Instagram plugin can work on Lightroom version 3.0 or above on both Windows and Mac. To download the plugin, click here.
