Yongnuo, a brand name that is well known among the photographers and videographers for the Speedlight and LED lights has announced the YN 100mm f/2 lens. The lens by Yongnuo comes with a price tag of $170 and was spotted by Photo Rumors on the Yongnuo Hong Kong website.

Some of you must already be aware that Yongnuo had already entered the camera lens market with their already released 35mm f/2 and 50mm f/1.8 lenses. The addition of YN 100mm f/2 lens in their lineup of lenses is a great news for those looking for affordable alternatives.

Yes, you are thinking right this does look exactly the same as the $500 Canon 100mm f/2 USM Lens. The look is not the only thing that is similar, the lens by Yongnuo also features 8 lens elements in 6 groups. The YN 100mm f/2 has a 9-blade aperture, whereas the Canon version has an 8-blade aperture.

The Yongnuo YN 100mm f/2 is not available in US stores as of now, but the Canon mount lens can be purchased on Aliexpress for US $171. The specs look promising, would be waiting for the lens to be available in India and get my hands on it as soon as possible.
