Dan Zarrella, a Social media researcher did a study on Instagram photos last year where he found some really interesting facts. Dan analyzed nearly 1.5 million images uploaded on Instagram by 500,000 instagramers and came out with amusing findings in the form of an infographic.

Few of the finding from his research states that the best filter for Instagram images is ‘no filter’, which means that the images with no filters applied get the most number of likes compared to the images posted with filters. Dan also found out that among all the filters, Willow, Calencia and Sierra are amongst the most popular filters to gain Instagram likes.

As per the infographic, images with a call to action such as ‘like’ and ‘comment’ in the description also helps in fetching more likes. One of the interesting findings is that the images dominated by cool colors garner more likes as compared to the warmer color tones.
