Asus seems to take a path towards what their consumers actually want, which is a good move. Asus Zenfone Live is a recent addition to their lineup of smartphones, which focuses primarily on live broadcasting.
The use of Facebook, Instagram and Youtube live is increasing day be day and I have been using the same as of lately to interact with my friends to discuss photography related queries. Being a photographer and a blogger, it is important to regularly interact with your friends or followers using the live broadcast technology.
I have been using the Asus Zenfone Live for almost 2 weeks now and in this blog post I would be sharing my views about this smartphone.
To start with, the key highlight of Zenfone Live is the BeautifyLive app which is the first of its kind. This app lets you apply beautification effect while doing Facebook, Instagram or Youtube live or while recording selfie video. As claimed by Asus, this phone also has a pair of microphones which reduces background noise and amplifies your voice to get superior quality audio.
While using this phone, I did try the Instagram live session and the beautification feature does work quite well. This being said, you can go for this phone only if you are very much into live broadcasting and want to make your skin appear smoother.
Talking about the rear camera, the Zenfone Live has a 13-megapixel f/2.0 camera which clicks decent quality pictures. It does perform well in bright daylight conditions, however, you will start noticing grains as the light goes down.
The 5-megapixel f/2.2 camera would have been better, considering that the phones in this price range offer better front camera performance.
As a photographer, I would go for Asus Zenfone Live the sole reason of the beautification feature that it has which can be used during the live broadcasting sessions Facebook, Instagram and Youtube. Though I am not a fan of using this feature, but if you are then you can consider this phone. At a price of Rs. 9,999 this is a decent buy for live broadcast users, else you have better options available in the market with better rear camera performance.
