So the rumors were true, Nikon has officially unveiled the AF-S Nikkor 105mm F1.4E ED prime lens. This is the fastest full-frame lens in the 105mm category and the first to feature the f/1.4 aperture in a 105mm lens.
The f/1.4 masterpiece looks solid in the images released by Nikon and is resistant to moisture and dust. The front and rear elements are coated with additional Fluorine so that the dust or moisture can be removed easily.
Weighing 985g (2.1 lbs), this is a heavy lens as it consists of 14 elements in 9 groups, which include three ED glass elements. Expected to be a lens which will produce stunning bokeh, the AF-S NIKKOR 105mm f/1.4E ED features 9 rounded aperture blades. To further reduce the flare, Nikon has used the Nano Crystal Coat technology.
The AF-S NIKKOR 105mm f/1.4E ED will be available in late August for a suggested retail price (SRP) of $2,199.95 (INR 1,50,000 approx.). For more information on Nikon’s latest products including their newest NIKKOR lenses, please visit www.nikonusa.com.
