A couple of days back, Kodak has announced the Ektra, a smartphone designed especially for the photographers. The smartphone is being produced by a UK-based company, Bullitt Group. Many of you might or might not be aware that the original Kodak Ektra camera was manufactured and marketed way back in the year 1941.
The Ektra smartphone by Kodak features a 21-megapixel camera with a lens which has the aperture as wide as f/2.0 and a dual-LED flash next to the camera at the back. The mobile camera comes equipped with Optical Image Stabilization, Phase Detection Auto Focus and can record videos in 4K resolution. For selfie addicts, the Ektra features a front-facing 13-megapixel camera with f/2.2 aperture.
One of the key attractions of this Kodak smartphone is the built and the look of it, which will make you feel that you are clicking photos using a point-and-shoot camera. On the side panel edge, you will find a dual-press shutter release button which acts similarly as a digital camera.
The camera app in the Kodak Ektra has a classic interface which has a camera-like modes dial with extensive scene mode selection and allows the user to use the camera in manual mode. It comes with Super 8 app, which gives similar effects as of the vintage Super 8 films by Kodak after you have clicked the images. Ektra also comes loaded with the Snapseed app, which is in itself a great post-processing application.
