These two new lenses are fast as they come with the constant aperture of f/1.8, moreover, these Tamron lenses come installed with the Tamron’s Vibration Compensation image stabilization system.
Both the SP 35mm f/1.8 Di VC USD and the SP 45mm f/1.8 Di VC USD lenses are compatible with the APS-C format cameras as well as the full-frame cameras. These new lenses by Tamron will be available for sale from October 2015, available in both Canon and Nikon mounts.
What was the first thing that comes to your mind when you hear about Tamron? Is it zoom lenses? Well, Tamron has been famous for its lineup of fairly good variable focal length lenses such as the SP AF 70-300mm F/4-5.6 Di VC USD and the AF 18-200mm F/3.5-6.3 XR Di-II. But with the launch of the two new fast prime lenses, Tamron is trying to expand its reach and give a neck to neck competition to Sigma.
Talking about the physical changes in the Tamron’s SP flagship, the design of the switches and the focus ring has been revamped to make them look more stylish and user-friendly. Both the lenses feature Broad-Band Anti-Reflection (BBAR) coatings. AS per the manufacturers, to ensure the durability, the attachment of the hoods and the lens cap have been re-designed accordingly. To control the vignetting, both the lenses have been designed in such a manner that the overall illumination across the entire field is balanced properly.
