5 Unique Camera Features of Xiaomi Mi Mix 2

The Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 is a smartphone which can turn heads because of its 18:9 full view display. But there is more to this feature-packed smartphone, and being a photographer I am talking about its camera features.

I as a smartphone user try to experiment with the camera app and while I was using the Mi Mix 2 I was pleased to find some camera features which I am sure you shall be willing to try out too. Mi Mix 2 has some unique camera features which I have rarely seen in any smartphone camera app and I shall be talking about them in details.

1. Tilt-Shift Mode in Xiaomi Mi Mix 2

I hope you will agree with me when I say that almost all of us like blur effect in our photos, I mean to say in a majority of our photos.

Using the tilt-shift mode in Mi Mix 2 you can easily achieve the blur effect in your photos. The best part of this mode is that you can achieve either linear blur effect or circular blur effect in your shots. While you are framing your shot, you can get the live view of the blur effect you would be getting before clicking the photo.

2. Straighten Mode in Xiaomi Mi Mix 2

One of the challenges you might have been facing after clicking photos would be tilt in your photos, which you have to correct using an editing software or app.

Xiaomi has introduced a smart camera feature in Mi Mix 2 which automatically captures a straight photo, irrespective of how you handle the smartphone. Though this mode crops this photo as you incline the smartphone towards left or right, but it ensures that you get a straight aligned photo.

3. Contrast, Saturation, and Sharpness adjustment in Xiaomi Mi Mix 2

I usually post process my mobile clicks in editing apps because the smartphones I had been using did not allow me to manually adjust the contrast, saturation, and sharpness. These three are some of the basic corrections I adjust while editing a photo, and Mi Mix 2 surely helps save my time by allowing me to adjust them before clicking a photo.

Contrast helps you to boost or reduce the strength of highlights as well as shadows, and saturation is the strength of colors in a digital photo. By adjusting these three things before clicking a photo you can see it on the screen of the Mi Mix 2 as to how your photo would come out. So as per your desire, you can set the range of contrast, sharpness, and saturation and then proceed with your shoot.

4. Short Video Mode in Xiaomi Mi Mix 2

The Short Video is a convenient camera mode in Mi Mix 2 as it records a small video clip of 10 seconds only. This mode is very useful if you want to capture short videos and do not want to spend time editing the videos in order to shorten their duration.

If you regularly post videos on social media and prefer shot video clips, this mode is ideal for you.

5. HHT Mode in Xiaomi Mi Mix 2

Clicking photos in low light conditions is one of the most challenging tasks, as you tent to get blurry photos or your photos usually lack sharpness. The Mi Mix 2 camera features HHT (hand-held twilight) mode especially for low light photography and it helps you to click sharp and clear photos.

The HHT mode clicks multiple photos and then after an internal processing by the software it shows you a single photo which is much sharper and has better details as compared to the photo clicked in automatic mode.
