Sony has announced the all new Sony FE 50mm f/2.8 Macro lens for full-frame Sony E-mount mirrorless cameras, but can also be used on Sony APS-C cameras. It is a versatile prime lens which is light and compact.
Talking about versatility, for general photography use this lens guarantees high-quality image and smooth bokeh with f/2.8 maximum aperture. For macro photography, it shoots 1:1 macro images letting the photographer get closer to the subject and click sharp photos.
As shown in the image above, the lens features the focus-mode switch to move between AF and MF. It also includes a focus-hold button and a focus range switch with three options.
The Sony FE 50mm f/2.8 Macro lens features a minimum focusing distance of 6.3 inches for clicking close-ups. The lens also features one aspherical element and one extra-low dispersion glass element to reduce spherical and chromatic aberrations, which would result in increased clarity and sharpness.
The recently launched Sony FE 50mm f/2.8 Macro lens with start shipping this September and is priced at $500.
